MxM : What You Know Ch.1

"I need one tall iced peppermint white chocolate mocha, one tall iced caramel macchiato and two grande cappuccinoes!" Margaret yelled over her shoulder.

"Got it!" Zoe yelled back, reaching over the grinder for a coffee cup.

Margaret wiped her forehead and breathed heavily. It was her first day working at The Coffee Shop and she was learning quickly that these costumers didn't wait for anybody.

Zoe was speeding up all the orders, placing them on the counter before Margaret could even finish giving out the order. After the first four orders were done, the crowd got smaller and smaller which gave Margaret and Zoe time to themselves for a while.

"So newbie, hows the first day so far?" Zoe asked wiping her hands on a dish rag.

Margaret groaned. "I've never worked so hard in my life! I mean, I knew that working in a coffee shop was hard, but I didn't expect it to be," She wiped sweat from her forehead. " This hard!"

Zoe laughed. "Yeah. The first day is always the hardest. But don't worry, after a while, you'll get used to it." She patted Margaret on the back.

The bell attached to door rang as two guys entered The Coffee Shop. It was a few regular costumers and Margaret's friends, Mordecai and Rigby.

Margaret looked up from the cash register and smiled when they were coming her way. "Hey Mordecai, hey Rigby. What's up?"

Zoe coughed loudly behind Margaret, which was a signal for : NO! May I take your order?

"May I take your order?" Margaret said, glaring back at Zoe.

Mordecai grinned. Could she be anymore adorable?? "Hey Margaret, you work here now?"

"Oh, yeah. I needed some extra cash and this place had the highest payroll."

"Oh cool."

Mordecai and Margaret just stared and smiled at each other for a long time, until Rigby elbowed Mordecai, annoyed.

"Oh yeah," said Mordecai, shaking out of his daze. "Two coffees please."

Margaret punched in some buttons on the register. "Would you like any milk or sugar?"

"No, thanks." Rigby answered.

She punched in more buttons. "Two regular coffees, black!" she yelled to Zoe.

Zoe gave a thumbs up and began brewing the coffee.

Rigby looked up at the clock. "Hey dude, we gotta get back to work or Benson's gonna kill us!"

Mordecai groaned. "Oh yeah."

"Two coffees, black." Zoe placed their drinks on the counter.

"Well, we gotta get going. Later Margaret." Mordecai said taking his cup.

Margaret gave a shy smiled and waved. "Bye Mordecai."

They didn't look away from each until Mordecai bumped into the door, which made Rigby laugh. He punched Rigby in the arm and they left the shop.

Margaret giggled.

"Margaret, that guy is so into you." Zoe said.
